The OlaAspen System
THE INTERNAL FOUNDATION
OlaAspen Duobase
A two-layer internal design that considers stable support and surface comfort as different jobs.
The first Duobase is currently being sampled. Final layer specifications and performance information will be published after validation.
Comfort Is Not Simply More Softness
Pet beds are often explained with one word: soft. We think comfort deserves a more complete question.
An animal needs a surface that feels inviting, but the complete bed also needs an internal foundation that does not rely on softness alone. OlaAspen Duobase separates those roles across two foam layers so each can be assessed for a specific purpose.
The Support Layer
The lower layer is made from PU foam and is intended to provide the stable foundation of the bed.
Its final density, firmness, thickness and long-term performance remain under sample review. Those specifications will be disclosed only when the production construction has been confirmed.
The Comfort Layer
The upper layer uses memory foam as the closer contact layer.
Its role is to complement the support layer rather than replace it. The final relationship between both layers will be evaluated through complete-bed samples, not through a foam swatch in isolation.
Designed as Part of the Complete Bed
Duobase is not being developed as a separate mattress placed inside an unrelated shell. Its depth, usable sleeping area and relationship with the surrounding bolsters are considered together.
The first bed will test these proportions as a complete object, including how companion animals enter, settle, lean and change position. Final animal-fit guidance will be specific to each size.
Keep the Foundation, Change the Surface
The Duobase is intended to remain as the internal foundation while complete interchangeable covers change the exterior, interior, bolster surfaces and sleep surface of the bed.
This creates a different ownership logic: the internal structure and the visible surfaces do not always need to be replaced at the same time. A future cover can change the material, colour or character of the bed without requiring a new Duobase.
What We Will Publish
Before launch, the product page will disclose the confirmed:
- layer construction
- overall Duobase depth
- usable sleeping dimensions
- size and animal-fit guidance
- cover compatibility
- care and protection instructions
- testing relevant to the final production version.
We will not use orthopaedic, clinical, therapeutic or pressure-relief claims without evidence that matches the exact product being sold.
Considered from the inside out.
